Since 1934 the American Cowboy has preserved the history of America’s original sport in the heart of Toppenish.

Toppenish is known for two things. The city was named one of the “Prettiest Painted Places” in the United States for its outdoor murals, and the Toppenish Rodeo.

In 1957, a fire destroyed the rodeo grounds. Then and now, the all-volunteer Toppenish Rodeo Board works diligently to build the grounds and the rodeo. With a lot of community support, the July event continues to improve each and every year.
